Bar Lucci Shooting: Shots Fired in Bar Near Kent State University, Suspect Remains at Large
KENT, Ohio — A frightening scene unfolded Thursday evening near Kent State University after several shots were fired inside a popular local bar. According to Kent Police, the shooting occurred at Bar Lucci, located in the 200 block of North Water Street, just steps away from campus.
Authorities confirmed that no one was injured during the incident.
Fight Inside Bar Led to Gunfire
Police said the incident began when bar employees were working to clear out patrons for the night. During the process, a fight broke out between individuals inside the establishment. In the midst of the altercation, one man pulled out a firearm and opened fire, sending people scrambling for safety.
Quick Police Response
An officer who was on patrol nearby heard the gunshots and immediately rushed to the scene. Additional Kent Police officers also responded within moments, securing the area and interviewing witnesses. Despite the rapid response, the suspect fled the scene before officers could make contact.
